Education
Here at First UCC, we have four adult Sunday School classes. Each is a little different, but all are great places to learn about our God, build friendships and strengthen our faith. Here is a short description of each, written by the teachers of the classes.
New Generation Class:
An ageless group of couples & singles, dedicated to service in our church & community. We have no teacher...we are group taught, through discussion with curriculum that relates to our everyday life. If you aren't sure where you belong - it's probably with us! This class meets in the Church Parlor.
The Young Adult Class:
We are couples and singles in the 30's to 50's age range. Our time together consists of 50% study and 50% support for each other's walk with Christ. Everyone that feels called can lead our studies with the topic of their choosing. We socialize with each other and are a close group but with open arms for newcomers. If you are an Adult that's Young at heart, come join the Young Adult Class! This class meets on the first floor of the Educational Building.
The Adult Christian Class:
We are mainly married couples ranging in age from the mid-40's to the mid-50's. Most of us are parents. Our children are all ages, from grade school to grown up and married. Several of us are grandparents. We try to be active and committed supporters of our church. Our class lessons try to relate the biblical to our everyday experiences. Sharing our mutual joys and concerns has helped us form many true friendships. Our teachers are Marion Troyer and Mark Klaiber. We would welcome new members. This class meets on the second floor of the Educational Building.
The CWC Class:
The Christian Worker's Class is for all adults interested in comprehensive Bible Study with discussion of a particular passage from either the Old or New Testaments with exposition of the passage and application to life situations. The David C. Cook adult lessons are organized according to the Bible's key themes that cover the Bible in six years. Students are provided study books for the weekly lessons. Teachers are Rev. Arnold Klaiber with frequent substitutes Elaine Miller, Helen Hoover, and Cynda Lenarz. This class meets in the Church Library, located on the first floor in the Educational Building.
